Rehab Recovery Suites®

Our Rehab Recovery Suites® (RRS) provide intensive therapy and comprehensive care to help our patients return home as quickly—and safely—as possible. Our rehabilitation professionals work with referring physicians and hospitals to develop patient-centered care plans designed to help individuals return to their highest functional levels in a timely manner.

RRS differ from short-stay units in several important ways. For example, RRS have additional physician oversight of our rehab advisor along with around-the-clock coverage by a registered nurse. Our rehab teams also provide rehab services with the latest equipment every day of the week to accommodate you, regardless of when you are welcomed into our suites. Many of our RRS have transitional home-like environments to help you practice the activities of daily living that will help you prepare for a confident return home.

RRS also differ from short-stay units because of the additional services and amenities available. For example, RRS include use of a personal telephone with voicemail, cable television, in-room internet access, electric adjustable beds, a personal concierge, and a choice menu. In addition, RRS have a more exclusive atmosphere—many have private entrances, designated internet cafes, lounges and dining rooms—that help make your time with us more personable and comfortable.

Typically, our interdisciplinary teams can address a variety of healthcare issues, including orthopedic, cardiac, neurologic and pulmonary needs. We also offer occupational, physical and speech therapy seven days per week, along with 24-hour coverage by a registered nurse.

Some of our centers include a transitional suite, an area within the center that is specifically designed to assist patients with relearning the everyday tasks of living. For instance, a suite may include a kitchen, laundry room and bathroom.

Because our program is pretty intensive, we tend to attract people in their 60s and 70s, individuals who are generally in good health and who are motivated toward a quick recovery. Many of our patients are recovering from orthopedic or reconstructive surgery.

Of course it varies according to individual needs, but in general, our patients tend to return home within three to four weeks of being admitted to our RRS program. Each RRS location has a designated “concierge” staff member to provide assistance in meeting patient requests. Because of our concierge services, patients can focus their attention on recovering their strength and mobility.
