United Seniors Health Cooperative (202) 479-6973): United Seniors Health Cooperative is a nonprofit organization which helps people understand issues of aging such as good health, health insurance (Medicare, Medicaid, Medigap and major medical), housing options and care giving. It has developed a specialty of counseling people regarding insurance needs, including long-term care insurance.
Administration on Aging: The Administration on Aging (AoA) is the focal point and advocacy agency for older persons and their concerns at the federal level. It develops federal government policy and programs and coordinates community services for older people. AoA assists state and area agencies on aging in developing community services to meet the social and human service needs of older persons.

National Institute on Aging: The National Institute on Aging (NIA), part of the National Institutes of Health, is the federal government's principal agency for conducting and supporting biomedical, social and behavioral research related to aging processes and the diseases and special problems of older people. The Nursing Home Quality Initiative: This Nursing Home Quality Initiative (NHQI) web site provides consumer and provider information regarding the quality of care in nursing homes. NHQI discusses quality measures that are shown at the Nursing Home Compare web site (medicare.gov), which allows consumers, providers, states and researchers to compare information about nursing homes.
