Awards and Recognition

In 2008, the following SunBridge employees were selected and recognized as "Caregivers of the Year" at the company’s annual educational conference based on their exceptional efforts to care for our residents and patients, clients and fellow employees. These individuals truly exemplify our company’s mission statement, Caring is the Key in Life.

• Becky is a licensed practical nurse who has been at her nursing center in Ohio for 18 years and consistently demonstrates outstanding leadership for her fellow nurses—but her residents benefit most. Once, a resident with no children asked Becky to be her daughter at the center’s mother/ daughter tea on Mother’s Day. And when residents are discharged home but have to return for care, they frequently ask for Becky to be their nurse.
• Glenda is an activities assistant in Oklahoma, and one of her peers commented "she has a way of drawing all residents into her groups—not just a few." Her administrator added, "The kind of passion she has for our residents and her job is rare." This outstanding woman came to her center two years ago after being a stay-at-home mom and grandmother. Today she comes to us as an example of how to do a job with skill, compassion and respect.
• Cheryl is a nurse with more than 25 years of experience. She currently serves as the resident services supervisor and oversees the assisted living portion of a multi-care campus in New Mexico. Her communication skills are among her strongest traits, but she is greatly known for her compassionate and understanding manner. One family member stated, "I hope she is working when Mom’s time comes."
• As the company’s safety director, Nabil crossed the United States, conducting safety trainings at the center level, providing oversight for OSHA inspections and supporting his teammates in the worker’s compensation role. People who have seen his creative PowerPoint presentations know of his ability to have fun while still ensuring that the message is about safety. Thanks to him, our company is a safer place!
